Announcing the WinIDS v2.6 Suricata Deployment Framework for Windows

WinSnort.com is pleased to announce another major expansion to its lineup of 64-bit Windows Suricata deployment frameworks with the release of the WinIDS v2.6 Complete Edition (OpenSearch + EveBox + SSL). Designed to simplify bare-metal setups on Windows 10, Windows 11, and Windows Server, this new framework deploys a fully integrated network security monitoring stack—combining Suricata with local OpenSearch indexing, an EveBox management console, and automated local SSL/TLS certificate generation out of the box.

This addition expands the WinSnort lineup into three distinct deployment tiers to suit various monitoring needs:
• WinIDS v2.6 Complete Edition (OpenSearch + EveBox + SSL) – Full search, indexing, and visualization stack.
• WinIDS v2.6 SQLite Edition (EveBox Only) – Lightweight event viewing without heavy database overhead.
• WinIDS v2.6 Engine Edition (No Console) – Standalone Suricata sensor for raw event generation.

The v2.6 framework streamlines the entire setup into an automated workflow that handles native service creation, local Certificate Authority generation, directory structures, and Windows Firewall rules. Each package includes dedicated utilities for base setup, automated Suricata rule set synchronization, SSL/TLS binding, and disaster recovery/cleanup.

All installation packages, SHA-1 verification hashes, and full deployment guides are available now at WinSnort.com. Community feedback, suggestions, and bug reports are always welcome as we continue to refine Windows-native support for Suricata!
