How to Update suricata in Windows by commands

Please include the following information with your help request:

  • Suricata version Suricata version 7.0.7
  • Operating system is Windows
  • Installed Suricata by Msi package

Hi,

There are two upgrade paths.
You can upgrade to 7.0.12 or 8.0.1.

I think the best to do is remove Suricata 7.0.7 as it is unsupported and install latest major stable Suricata 8.
The MSI package will not upgrade currently on top of the old one , you will need to remove it and make sure you save your config.

We have a pending issue to make MSI upgrades seemliness like you would in Linux packaging.
