This October 16, Eric Leblond, with his Suricata Language Server 1.0.0 and beyond.
Suricata Language Server (SLS) has reached a stable stage after 3 years of usage and development. The talk will cover the main features and its usage from the editor or from the command line. It will also deep dive into the analysis of error and performance hints who are mostly coming from Suricata engine analysis. The talk will also discuss features of Suricata rules language that can be instrumental for rules writers maintaining a ruleset. It will notably cover the handling of various versions of Suricata in the same ruleset. Usage of SLS new features that give the user capability to adapt the ruleset analysis to the configuration of their Suricata probes will also be showcased.

About the speaker: Éric Leblond is the co-founder and chief technology officer (CTO) at Stamus Networks. He sits on the board of directors at Open Network Security Foundation (OISF). Éric has more than 20 years of experience as co-founder and technologist of cybersecurity software companies and is an active member of the security and open-source communities. He has worked on the development of Suricata – the open-source network threat detection engine – since 2009 and is part of the Netfilter Core team, responsible for the Linux kernel’s firewall layer. Eric is a respected expert and speaker on all things network security.
