Replace IDS like Cisco Firepower with Suricata

Good morning,
We currently use IDS like Cisco Firepower and I wanted to know if we could consider replacing them with Suricata? Do we risk degrading our detection capacity or, on the contrary, will we gain it?

I think they are similar, however, Suricata required you to set it up and configure it for properly usage.

I concur with the idea to replace Firepower with Suricata, and the need to be able to properly maintain your own instance if deciding to do-it-yourself.
