Ubuntu with Suricata v5.0.1 RELEASE
I am trying to use the pcap commands in suricatasc to process/analyze some pcaps.
If I start suricata like suricata -c /etc/suricata/suricata.yaml -i wlan0 (specifying the config file and the interface), the pcap commands do not show up in suricatasc (if I try the command-list command, it doesnt show them)
However, if I start it with the following command suricata -c /etc/suricata/suricata.yaml --unix-socket, the pcap commands show up (pcap-file-list, pcap-file, pcap-interrupt, etc). The problem with running the command this way is it seems to ignore the interface I have set in the config file/uses the default eth0 while my interface is NOT eth0 (wlan0 in some cases, eth1 in other cases, etc). NOTE: Most of this is on my personal machine (hence the wlan0)
Any suggestions/guides?

Can you add the suricata.yaml as well?
But the pcap commands don’t make much sense if you listen on an interface. So with -i you say suricata to listen on that interface for traffic and don’t expect pcaps as it’s in “live traffic mode”.
