Hey @Haleema_Khan,
can you create a topic with more details about the issues you’re facing here in the forum? It can be under the Outreachy category ^^
This will help us in learning how to best support you.
Hello there!
As mentioned before, we now have a dedicated Discord channel on our server: feel free to share thoughts, struggles, and meerkat gifs in the #outreachy chat
Thank you so much for all that you guys are doing!!
Hello again Outreachy applicants!
It was brought to my attention that I should update my introduction, so I’m redoing it.
I’ve added bold to the new information that is more important to retain.
Sorry for not doing that before!
I am Juliana.
Pronouns: She/Her (They/Them is also fine).
Timezone: Brazil/Bahia (UTC - 3).
I am also a member of OISF working on parts of Suricata, mostly, and its documentation.
In the past, I have worked on projects with C/C++, PHP, PostgreSQL, Drupal; but also as a Service Desk and Customer Support call center agent, and as a freelancer translator.
I’ll be one of your mentors and I am currently the community coordinator for OISF.
I’m also available for any questions related to the Redmine tickets, Suricata project, Git, Rust, C, struggles, confidence…
Contact me at jufajardini [at] oisf [dot] net in case of any CoC violations or anything you might not feel comfortable sharing in public.

Hey Baz!
Rust is difficult. But cool. And difficult in a cool way. You’ll be fine
I also find it rather difficult to find time to read books, lately. I sometimes opt for audiobooks. Have you tried those?
Welcome to our community! I hope this will be a positive experience in your rust journey.

I have actually tried audiobooks; I just end up not focusing (well, because I’m always doing something else alongside). Thanks for the advice anyway

Hello again ^^
We’ve had some people contributing a lot already, so you’ll have to speed up your game, but the doors are open!
What’s most important is that you learn along the way and have a good time, so this experience will always be useful, no matter the outcome.
Welcome to our community, and do join our Discord server, especially the #Outreachy channel, for more synchronous chats.

@hadiqaalamdar thank you for your interest. Apologies for the confusion but we’ve created a new thread for this year’s applicants and have archived this topic. So, please follow December 23 to March 24 Outreachy round: Introduce yourselves here! for getting to know about the applicants and mentors of this round. Thank you!
You can re introduce yourself there if you want.
